Beyond the last frontiers: Life in exile

Mahmoud Darwish, the visionary Palestinian poet, reflected the bleak emptiness and the endless desolation of exile life when he wrote: "Where shall we go after the last frontiers - where shall the birds fly after the last sky?" Manjula Wediwardena visually reflects the words of Darwish, capturing the faint flickers of life through the cracks of darkness. He casts shadows of his sorrows and anxieties on to gunmetal waters of lakes surrounding Rhône-Alpes region in South-eastern France.
