Inquiries into vaginas

The nights are not dark
The days not bright
The guilty are rewarded
The innocent punished
We carry everything with us
Still we have nothing
The Tamil identity is scattered amongst the wreckage
Where the evidence is being erased
Fleeing
Escaping
Looking for a way
Not just to save our lives
But also our race
The stray dogs have changed colour
Now they’re khaki
And they roam at night looking for women
They enter without permission
Bitten breasts scream in silence
A mother’s sacrifice so her child can live
